There is a lot of Irish set and céilí dancing here in the Bay Area. Listed below are
the main events that are scheduled on a regular basis. In addition to the events listed below,
there are also other non-scheduled ceilis and dance workshops happening in the area. For these

Local Area Dance Listing
Below you will find the non-pandemic norm for dances around the San Francisco Bay Area. However, during the pandemic, all dancing is on hold.
San Francisco - On Thursdays, CCÉ hosts set dancing classes at the UICC from 7:30 pm to 9.15 pm. Cost: $5. This is followed by more dancing at the Plough and Stars from 9.30 pm to 11:30 pm -- except for the first Thursday of the month when there is no class, just dancing at the Plough and Stars from 8.00 pm - 11.00 pm ~ $5 donation suggested. South Bay/Peninsula - Tuesday night set dancing (with a smidgen of céilí style) at Lilly Mac’s in Sunnyvale (upstairs); 187 S. Murphy Avenue between Evelyn and Washington Avenues. It is every Tuesday; 8-10pm; There will be no set dancing on November 26th, December 24th or December 31st. Suggested donation is $7. Mostly live bands. Contact (415) 999-6062 for more information.
North Bay - Mary McDonagh and Mícheál Minihane teach set dancing on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at Brosnan School of Irish Dance in San Anselmo from 7-9pm. There is a $5 donation suggested for this class. Mary and Mícheál also teach at the Redwood Cafe in Cotati on the second and fourth Wednesday. Contact or for more information.
